Inspiring, engaging, and empowering our students through innovation
Real World Learning programs support teachers by allowing them to renew their teacher licenses while gaining experience through externships, guest speaker sessions, field trips, and other events. Teachers are then able to experience how their own lessons apply in various professional settings. These experiences allow them to better explain workforce implications in the classroom while supporting students as they navigate their own externships. Our goal is to engage five teachers in these externships in the upcoming year.
We will be meeting with the Business and Industry Advisory Committee to develop our partnership opportunities. While we already have many relationships with our local business community, expanding our network will allow real world learning to reach all content areas. This will ensure that students will be able to interact with businesses in order to gain a more comprehensive idea about their passions inform their professional futures.
Nepris, the virtual training platform we are using, is a relatively new tool for our teachers. Because of that, there has been some hesitancy to adopt it. Through our trainings, we will be demonstrating how teachers can use it in order to best serve their students. These sessions will ultimately help teachers to demonstrate professional applications of theoretical concepts.
