The ExCITe Center creates transdisciplinary learning activities, from STEAM workshops for educators to student internships. ExCITe’s community engagement focuses on the West Philly Promise Zone and collaboration with local community organizations and regional arts and cultural partners. We also support economic development through our web design and training program for local small businesses.
The Promise Neighborhood is a US Department of Education-funded program to support “cradle to career” opportunities for children living or attending schools in the West Philadelphia Promise Zone.
The Foundation provides resources and experiences to effectuate positive change in the lives of youth, particularly those in underserved communities.
CS4Philly provides equity and access to high-quality computer science (CS) education for Philadelphia's children and youth.
The SLA Schools provide a vigorous, college-prep curriculum with a focus on science, technology, mathematics, and entrepreneurship.
The Workshop School focuses on project-based learning, student exhibitions, internships, college courses, automotive training, and entrepreneurship.
The ExCITe Center engages with both middle and high school students through our summer programs. We also take on several high school interns each year and work with a local middle school on STEAM mini-courses. Teachers and districts are engaged through various workshops.
