Innovating today to inspire tomorrow's leaders
SISD has always sought a PK-16 alignment with higher ed, which has led to multiple opportunities to partner up and use our resources to benefit the students and teachers we serve in our shared community. SISD together with the University of Texas at El Paso’s STEAM Tech-E program expose SISD students and teachers in the district’s WIN Academy to a wide-range of technologies with real-world, hands-on experiences.
The SISD Operation College Bound initiative is a first-of-its-kind partnership with the El Paso Community College (EPCC) and UTEP that provides on-site college enrollment services directly to high school students by making the transition from high school to college easier for graduating seniors.
To support teachers and administrators with the implementation of digital learning environments, the District hosts an annual Digitally Nurturing Academics Technology Conference. The conference serves as a full day of professional development opportunities for teachers from all campuses. For this conference SISD creates partnerships with companies like Microsoft Education, Edmentum, McGraw Hill and ClassFlow to provide innovative technology professional development sessions; thus, providing teachers and students the endless opportunities to digital age learning.
