Diamond has worked for the district in multiple leadership roles including as Assistant Director of Sheridan Technical College, Assistant Director of Change Implementation, Intern Principal of Sheridan Technical High School, and Director of Innovative Learning.

People always ask whether or not my parents wanted a son because my name is not usually given to girls. The truth is that I have a twin brother and my parents liked the name for me as a girl.
Before coming to Broward, Runcie founded a management and technology consulting company and held several strategic leadership positions with Chicago Public Schools, including serving as its Chief Information Officer and Chief Administrative Officer.

Runcie knows first-hand how a high-quality education can transform a person’s life. Born in Jamaica, he moved to the United States as a young boy and became the first member of his family to attend college, graduating from Harvard University.
