Learn - Create – Play - Connect!

PBS Wisconsin Education’s “Click” Youth Media initiative hones student and educator digital media skills through a multi-pronged approach that provides:

Media production professional development for educators who take those skills into their classrooms to help students create their own media;

Educator connections for peer-to-peer learning throughout the State;

Support for student journalism through work with PBS NewsHour Student Reporting Labs and Wisconsin schools; and

PBS Media Literacy Educator Certification and micro-credentials to educators as they critically consume and create media with their students.

Program offerings include:

Click Teacher Summer Camp – During this professional development event, educators practice video production skills and deepen their ability to teach video production in the classroom. Educators connect with peers from around the state and strengthen relationships for an ongoing community of practice.

Support for PBS Media Literacy Educator Certification – Educators can develop and demonstrate their expertise in teaching PreK-12 students to think critically about their roles as media consumers and creators. PBS Wisconsin Education collaborates with PBS and KQED to offer media literacy micro-credentials for free via the Digital Promise platform.

Journalism Production in the Classroom - PBS NewsHour’s Student Reporting Labs connects students with a network of public broadcasting mentors and an innovative journalism curriculum to develop digital media, critical thinking and communication skills while producing original news reports. PBS Wisconsin Education producers support schools with storytelling, editing, and production techniques as students craft their news stories.

Young Changemakers - High school students across Wisconsin are working every day to make the world a better place. Learn how your students can create a profile video about a peer making a difference in their community. Our student prompt and educator guide provide all of the resources needed to participate. 

Let's Talk About Election 2020 - Join classrooms across the country and let the nation know what your students think about election issues that will impact their lives. Learn how your students can create and publish audio or video commentaries for a national audience. The Let’s Talk About Election 2020 showcase will be open from January 2020 until the presidential inauguration in January 2021.
