increase in active business partnerships during the 2018-19 school year

Given our goal of facilitating an internship for every highschooler per year (1300 annually), we are continuing to increase our number of active community partners.  Some notable organizations we’ve been able to connect with include West Chester Township, National Inventors’ Hall of Fame, and the Boys and Girls Club of West Chester and Liberty.

RWL experiences were made available to students during the 2018-19 school year

Real world learning opportunities included internships, job shadows, and project-based learning (PBL) team participation. The number of RWL experiences has increased by 635 over the previous year.

%

increase in high school teachers familiar with RWL and who incorporate it into their instruction doubled during the 2018-19 school year

Experiences such as project mentoring and facilitating guest speaker sessions created direct links between theoretical knowledge and practical application in the professional world. Our hope is that RWL sessions and activities will continue to grow as teachers familiarize themselves with the process and see the benefits firsthand.
