teachers were trained in the Real World Learning Roadmap

Our CTE teachers were able to immediately see the relevance. Eight of our high school teachers from our CTE program at North View High School joined a RWL workshop to support our students. Teachers were able to connect with Brokers, seek guest speakers, and align their curriculum and students with RWL opportunities.

Each teacher was able to link classroom concepts to RWL and hold and activity that demonstrated how the concepts learned in the classroom were relevant to students’ professional lives. For example, teachers facilitated activities like a guest speaker or a virtual meeting with an industry expert. Additionally, some students held positions in internships or participated in on-site job shadows in fields such as film production and publication.

0

students participated in summer internships that were developed through the Real World Learning Challenge Collaborative. The students interned at Atlas Digital, a television and movie post-production company

In addition to learning material that was relevant to career paths, the students were able to participate in internships that were related to their career interests.
