Employing the latest tools and highly effective strategies to maximize strengths of every learner
Launched in 2012 and certified by Project Lead the Way, our Biomedical Science Pathway engages students in a series of courses over four years of high school that combine rigorous curriculum in the life sciences and health care technology with hands-on activities and experiences in the healthcare industry. Biomedical Science students experience career-focused opportunities and work-based learning with leading industry partners. Biomedical Science Pathway students take on real-world challenges before they even graduate from high school.
The impact of this pathway has been profound, resulting in a significant increase in science course participation, CTE coursework, and college acceptances, including an increase in students pursuing college majors and careers in the medical and healthcare sciences. Currently, 21% of our high school population participates in this program. 100% of students who participated in the program graduated in 2018, and 83% of students entered 4 year schools with a major in the healthcare, science or science education industries (a 6% improvement).
