Arcadia Unified School District

Inspired by our district goal to personalize learning for every student, we are partnering with AltSchool to provide a personalized learning platform that will be used across Arcadia Unified over the next several years. Arcadia is one of the first public school districts to use the platform, and we have now piloted it with over 2,000 students.

Equity and excellence are thoroughly represented in our use of the platform through goal setting based on each child, a competency-based approach to learning, and an increase in learner agency.

Students have been positive about the platform, mentioning how much they appreciate having easy access to their assignments in one place. Teachers have been able to collaborate more easily on cross curricular projects in a way that provides a more learner-centered experience to our students. In regard to our rollout plan, we have been focusing on early adopters. We will continue to increasingly provide support and access to teachers who are interested in implementing the system in their classrooms.
