Empowering learners to achieve excellence through initiative, integrity, and innovation
We are a rural district, with five out of six of our schools qualifying as Title I. Our secondary students take home their devices, but many live in outlying areas with no access to internet services. To respond to this need, we rolled out a campaign to promote businesses in the community that provide open WiFi networks so students can access learning after regular school hours. We have enrolled over 25 partners in this endeavor to date.
This program gives internet access to our over 45 percent lower socio-economic population and also promotes our community partnerships. Through this program, we are extending the opportunity for our local businesses to actively support the success of all of our students and bridging gaps in learning outcomes.
