Empower students to identify problems and create innovative solutions
Library media centers in our schools have been transformed from the traditional library of printed text to media centers that support the collaborative, STEM-focused instructional programs which are a part of all schools in the district. Library media centers provide real and virtual access to high-quality resources to enhance student learning and improve student achievement. In addition to well curated print text collections, common offerings in our library media centers include makerspaces, tinkering stations, collaborative areas, and technology labs. Media specialists collaborate with each other and with teachers and technology coaches to design inquiry-based lessons that begin by posing questions or real life scenarios. Our library media program is committed to supporting student growth in informational literacy and to providing an environment that encourages collaboration among networks of learners.
