Open Education Resources (OER) adoption is a game-changer
Transitioning several core curricula for math, science, social studies and ELA

In 2015, we began a comprehensive redesign of our core curricula serving all grade levels. In the previous five years, having explored both traditional content providers as well as a variety of emergent edtech startups, our leadership team arrived at the best of both worlds, identifying those that would be strategically abandoned as well as settling on high-quality OER content providers for the future.

Several long-time curricula were not producing adequate outcomes for our students and were abandoned, while several others proved to be better suited to our refocus on the interaction of teachers and students in the presence of learning content. Simultaneously, we benefited financially by moving to the more cost-effective and sustainable curriculum adoption costs of OER.
