Employing the latest tools and highly effective strategies to maximize strengths of every learner
The eighth grade community project is a yearlong undertaking where middle school students apply their design thinking training to address local, state, national, or world problems. Working individually or in small groups, student engage in an inquiry process to explore problems meaningful to them. They research potential solutions and ultimately design an intervention to address the problem. Throughout the process, students meet with their faculty advisers who provide input and guidance while allowing students to remain in the driver's seat. These advisors dedicate time throughout the year to work with students on their culminating project. Their final products showcase their ability to apply all of their learning in their course of study at the middle school to make meaningful change
